Our Story

We’re a group of current law students (with occasional guest contributors) who bonded after sitting together in the fifth row of our classroom. The name stuck, and Row 5 was born.

Our mission is simple: explore where sports, entertainment, and the law collide. We break down the legal issues shaping the industries we love.

Thanks for stopping by—we’re glad you’re here.

Meet Row5

Lily Langrind – Co-founder

Lily is a 2L at Suffolk University Law School with an interest in appellate and antitrust litigation.  Her dream job is general counsel for Arsenal women’s or a large raptor conservation fund.  Extra-curricular interests include hockey, cooking, and all of Kate Winslet’s movies.

Greta Roser – Co-founder

Greta is a rising 2L at Suffolk University Law School. She grew up both watching and playing sports, so her legal interests lie in Sports and Entertainment Law. She joined this blog to be able to further those interests in a legal manner through a creative medium outside of the classroom!

Greg McGrath – Co-founder

Greg is a 2L interested in civil litigation and admiralty law. Prior to attending Suffolk University Law School, Greg was an Engineer in the United States Merchant Marine. He is currently a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve. His free time is spent practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, hiking, or lounging on the beach with his wife.

Justin Eischen – Co-founder

Justin is a 2L at Suffolk University Law School. He joined this blog because it will allow him to combine the writing skills he learned during his 1L year with the mountains of previously useless sports and entertainment knowledge he has accumulated over the past 24 years.

Brian Wightman – Co-founder

Brian is a 2L at Suffolk University Law School with a background in finance and a strong interest in tax, estate planning, and the ever-evolving world of college athletics. Through this blog, he will explore how legal structures intersect with real-world sports business, especially the behind-the-scenes work that helps athletes protect their assets and navigate endorsement deals. Outside of law school, he enjoys golfing and watching Las Vegas sports teams.

Ava Salti – Contributer

Ava Salti is a 1L at Suffolk University Law School. Her ultimate interest lies in using sports to make the world a better place. Prior to attending Suffolk, she played both soccer and basketball at Emerson College, where she developed a deep appreciation for the ways athletics can build community and purpose. Ava is an incredibly passionate writer with experience covering sports and culture, and she is thrilled to be part of a team equally excited about the intersection of sports, entertainment, and the law. She hopes to use her legal education to advocate for athletes and help shape a more inclusive athletic landscape.
